What is zip / postal code?
Zip / postal code is a sequence of numeric or alphanumeric characters. It is used by post systems for addressing in many countries. Usually a postal code is associated with a post office. But in some cases it belongs to a single building or to a special places (university or military base) or even to a bus stop. Also every postal code is associated with a particular geographical point. It can be described by latitude and longitude.
