Danish Postal Codes FormatMost of Danish postal codes consist of 4 digits. But there are some areas with 3 digit postal codes. Danish postal codes were introduced in 1967. They are based on the geographic divisions of towns and municipalities.
All the postal codes from 1000 to 1999 are assigned to individual streets and large mail recipients e.g. companies, commercial organizations or public administrations. The rest Danish postal codes are assigned to postal service centres and bulk mail receivers.
